“Marcia had so many positive qualities that I am sure for those who knew her could attest to.  She was a very kind and gentle soul.  Marcia was a proud mother of Kara and Kevin who were the light of her life.  She enjoyed spending time with her significant other Mark who they made a home in South Carolina.  Marcia was a Professor at Nichols College for over 30 years.   This is where she fell in love with the Nichols College Bison teams.  You could always find her cheering on all the sports teams especially the Hockey Team.  Her second love was the game of golf. She was very passionate about the game of golf.  If you ever played with her, you could always count on her to make the correct ruling.  I swear she stayed up at night reading the USGA rule book nightly!

With that being said, I am guessing she did some deep digging on her own prayer card (probably in the USGA website) these are the words Marcia leaves us with:

“Almighty God as we play through our 18 holes of life, we pray that you will give us a drive that’s both long enough to reach our goals, and yet straight enough to keep us out of trouble.  Help us avoid the traps and hazards of life; nevertheless, should we find ourselves in them, give us the tools, skills and desire to escape them with no penalty.

May we always stay in bounds.  Help us to be willing to stand by-and not play through-those in genuine need.  May we always play with honor. And finally, when we’ve putted on the 18th green, we pray that we will have demonstrated the integrity of our character, so that you will judge us worthy enough to join your threesome and play eternally on the heavenly course.  Amen”

Gone way to soon, you are missed every day. Rest in Peace our Friend.”

“I met Marcia years ago at Bedrock Golf course in Rutland and she was always friendly and supportive to all woman golfers. It was great to see her resurface at Cohasse. I know she made Cohasse her new golf home and family. She became more involved with WCWGA and helped build up there already strong womans’ membership. I was sad to hear of her passing, She will be remembered and missed.”

“Sandra Partlow has been a dedicated member of WCWGA and a great friend of mine for over 30 years. I met her at a ladies invitational where we were put on the same team. We became quick friends and even shared a birthday. Sandy introduced me to WCWGA and her home course wasn’t involved so she joined and got her handicap through Heritage, Dunroamin, and Quail Hollow. She recorded 2 holes in one during her golf career, and was a supporter of the world amateur of Myrtle Beach, and introduced me and a bunch of other WCWGA members. We had many golf adventures to Myrtle Beach, Florida, Biloxi. She volunteered for WCWGA and assisted with the handing out of prizes, We were able to golf a few times last year (she was determined to keep on playing); unfortunately she suffered with ALS and declined rapidly. On June 3rd we celebrated our annual golf and casino tradition with only casino. She will be remembered fondly.”
